More great books!
Posted in Books I read with tags Norwegian Wood, The Curious Incident, the Kite Runner on November 10, 2008 by farrahalmira2
Some of the books that I recently read. The three books have totally different stories, settings and characters. Each book has its own uniqueness and each book successfully swept me away into a different world. The three authors (Khaled Hosseini, Haruki Murakami and Mark Haddon) have very distinctive writing styles yet could beautifully depict the great minds of the main characters in their novels; Amir, an Afghan man who lives a life of guilt for betraying his childhood friend; Toru Watanabe, from whose reminiscences we see him develop relationships with two women with contrary personalities; and Christopher John Francis Boone, a 15-year-old autistic boy trying to reveal the mystery behind the death of his neighbour’s dog. These books are definitely must-reads!
Madagascar 2: I (kinda) like to move it-move it!!
Posted in Music and Film with tags Madagascar 2 on November 9, 2008 by farrahalmira2I ‘ve always been a big fan of Madagascar! But the sequel has failed to impress me. Madagascar 2 sure is funny, but maybe I put my expectations way too high in the first place. It’s just not as amusing as the first one. The penguins steal the show, but the character of the grumpy old granny is painfully annoying. I particularly like the scene where Alex confuses Marty with another zebra. All in all I give it a 7 out of 10.
